Sean Webster
Senior Vice President, Toronto
Sean P. Webster was most recently Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Solvay Pharma Inc,having held this role since 2002. He was primarily responsible for overseeing the team responsible for the company’s product reimbursement activities with the federal and provincialpublic drug plans and with private insurers. He also managed relationships with key healthcare stakeholder groups, including disease, medical and industry associations, as well as overseeing the company’s legal affairs and corporate public relations activities. Sean served as a member of the company’s senior management team reporting directly to the President and CEO.
Prior to joining Solvay, Sean was employed in a similar role with Eli Lilly Canada in Toronto, where he had responsibility for reimbursement and stakeholder relations in the Province of Ontario.
Sean was an active member in a number of initiatives with Canada’s Research Based Pharmaceutical Association (Rx&D) and served on both the Vaccine Industry and Public Affairs Committees with BioteCanada. He has a broad range of therapeutic class experience, including; psychiatric, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, endocrinology, immunology and rheumatology and has lead successful reimbursement campaigns for drugs in each of these categories.
Sean has also held positions with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, U.K. and as a Government Relations consultant in Ottawa. Sean began his career as a Ministerial Assistant at the House of Commons in Ottawa. He has an MBA from the Cass School of Business at City University in London, UK.
Sean currently serves as a member of the Operating Board of Providence Healthcare in Toronto where he Chairs the Public Affairs Committee, is a member of the Governance Committee and is a member of the CEO Search Committee. Previously he has served on the Boards of Exhibition Place in Toronto, the Scarborough Chamber of Commerce, the Empire Club of Canada and Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.
