G.E. (Gord) Garner

Gord Garner is a public affairs professional with more than 25 years' experience in government relations and issues management. He has provided counsel to a number of national and international accounts, creating many successful corporate positioning, constituency relations and crisis management strategies involving trade policy, sectoral competitiveness and government-business relations.
Gord has extensive experience in the agri-food industry. He managed the successful public-affairs effort mounted by Canada's five commodity producer organizations in response to the US NAFTA challenge of Canada's supply-management system. He was also instrumental in the design and launch of a highly successful industry-awareness campaign promoting the Canadian confectionery industry in Ottawa.
Prior to joining Global Public Affairs, he served as senior partner in the Ottawa office of NATIONAL Public Relations. Gord holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has completed additional studies at the Masters level.
